I have many fond memories of Danny. Senior year Danny used to show up at my house late to spend the night. He would  wrestle with my dog for the right to sleep on the spare bed in my room. Danny always ended up sleeping in the bed, but my dog got sweet revenge in the morning by licking Danny's face to wake him. Then the ritual of push starting his MG(?): I would push at the trunk and Danny would push by the driver's door so he could jump in and pop the clutch.

Danny, Sebraien Haygood and I drove to Colorado to see David Kirschenbaum and Scott Cohn. I had fallen asleep at the wheel before we got out of Ohio so Danny and Sebraien banished me to the backset.  In a western state Danny got pulled over by a state trooper doing 90 mph. The trooper took Danny back to his care and told Sebraien and me that it would cost $90.00 cash to get Danny released. Sebraien told the trooper "we had no cash just a gas card" and added "to throw Danny's ass in jail and we would pick him up in a week on the way back." Danny was let go without even a warning.

The greatest memory of Danny was from ninth grade. Spring days after school Danny, Boncheck, Cohn and I would go to Byron's classic "straight track" and run 50's and 100's time and time again in an attempt to unofficially break the school's record. Then we would go to the pit and do the running long jump.  Danny would consistently jump over 21 feet often jumping 21'6" and 21'9". Danny would have place third at states that year if Shaker allowed freshman to compete in high school athletics. Danny could fly. Danny was beautiful.

David, I love all your comments about Danny. He was a character but a nice character. I didn't even know that hat he passed. Was it recently?

I too, have a couple of memories of (the late great) Danny Little

Memory 1)

I used to live across the street from Lomond, and there was always a lively basketball scene on the courts there. One time Marcus Murray, (another classmate, also deceased) who was very tall and athletic, got mad  at Danny for something that happened on the court and put his hands on Danny, who fired of a flurry of blazing punches and closed Marcus' eye in about 5 seconds flat. I had never seen anyting like that!

Memory (2)

We also use to play pick up baseball on the fields at Lomond. On this ocasion Bob Perlstein, was throwing rocks at my feet from across the diamond, and unfortunately, I bent down to tie my shoe and  he caught me with one right over my right eybrow. There is no padding in your forehead so I was bleeding profusely.Danny Little scooped me up and put me on the cross bar of his bicycle and rode me home.I ended up gettting 4 stiches.

Danny Little was a prince.

Rest in Peace

Not sure whether it was a study hall or lunch, but I remember playing games of dots with him.  He was always very funny and nice.  I just remember being very happy in his company.  I am very sorry that I didn't know that he had passed away.
